Comparison

A-Eye vs manual supervision

A supervisor sees a sample of the shift. The rest of it is unobserved by definition.

The short answer

Supervision is sampling. However good the supervisor, one person cannot be at every zone at once, and what happens between checks is reconstructed from memory. A-Eye observes continuously and keeps the evidence.

Side by side

Coverage is the difference.

The last two rows matter. Verification is not a substitute for judgement, and we do not present it as one.

Being fair about it

What supervision does better.

People are better at

  • Judging why something went wrong and what to do next
  • Coaching, training and correcting behaviour
  • Handling situations nobody anticipated
  • Negotiating trade-offs under pressure

Continuous verification is better at

  • Being present in every zone at once, on every shift
  • Counting without fatigue or estimation
  • Recording exactly what happened, with proof
  • Applying the same standard across every site

Common questions

Is this about replacing supervisors?

No. Supervision is judgement, coaching and decision making. What A-Eye removes is the part of the job that involves standing somewhere to observe whether something happened, or scrubbing footage afterwards to find out.

How is this different from a shift report?

A shift report records what a person recorded. A-Eye records what the cameras observed, continuously, with the frame retained. The two can be compared, and where they disagree that is usually the useful finding.

Will staff object to being monitored?

It is a fair concern and worth handling directly. In practice the deployments that work are framed around process and output rather than individuals, and are introduced openly rather than quietly. We will talk through that during an assessment.

What if our supervisors already catch these problems?

Then the value is smaller and we will say so. A-Eye is most useful where problems are being discovered late, at the end of a shift or when a customer complains.
